Curtains

Curtains can completely transform a room and choosing the right design and fabric are key. Your Curtain Call designer will guide you in these decisions and help you choose the fabrics and poles/tracks appropriate for different curtain styles and functions. These range from the sheer elegance of French pinch pleat to the precision of minimalist eyelet curtains and everything in between.

Choose from: gathered, pinch pleat, goblet, tab top, eyelet, wave or even traditional swags and tails for dramatically different effects.

All of our curtains and roman blinds are made to measure and are hand finished by skilled craftsmen.

You can also be guided in your choice of linings to help with a particular issue i.e. heat loss, light control, sound insulation.

Thermal Linings

Close-fitting thermal lined curtains that cover the entire width of the window, fall to the floor, and have pelmets that are installed tight against the wall can reduce the heat loss through single-glazed windows by about 60%.

For double glazing, good curtains can reduce heat loss through windows by 40-50%.

Interlining

A separate thermal layer of interlining effectively blocks energy loss, whilst providing noise reduction and protection of the fabric from harmful sunlight. It can be used to dramatically improve the drape of heavy curtains or add body to more light weight fabrics.

Bonded Interlining

As with interlining, however the thermal layer is attached to the lining.

Blackout lining

Our soft touch 3 pass blackout lining blocks sunlight and so protects the face fabric and the interior. Ideal for children’s rooms, night workers or if there is a street light outside your home.

Thermal Blackout lining

As with blackout lining but has a fleece layer helping to block energy loss.

Having your curtains open during the day in winter and closing them just before it gets dark will help keep your rooms warm.

Roman Blinds

A roman blind will add style and warmth to any room. Team with an upholstered pelmet in a complimentary fabric for a minimalist look or with curtains offering a more traditional finish. A choice of shaped bottoms, tassels and beads can also personalise them.

The blind can be operated with a traditional cord and cleat mechanism or alternatively a chain driven system, which is recommended for particularly wide blinds or those that will be in constant use.

Roman blinds are the most effective blinds for preventing energy loss as they lend themselves well to interlinings.
